About Jambo
Evidence-Based Yogi & Bodyworker
Jambo is a multi-disciplinary practitioner with over two decades of experience integrating complementary medicine and Western healthcare. He has worked in diverse environments, assisting various age groups and marginalized communities. Jambo has advised UK local authorities on complementary medicine for trauma, chronic pain, and substance misuse, sharing these insights with yoga, bodywork, and well-being practitioners.
Jambo is also a public speaker, practitioner of Classical East Asian Medicine, Forrest Yoga Guardian, and Psychomagic Magician.
Yoga
Jambo frequently travels teaching workshops based on Forrest Yoga, Functional Anatomy and Native practises of the Medicine People. He is also an experienced bodyworker and bodywork teacher based on his multi-disciplinary practise of structural alignment, muscles testing and classical East Asian medicine.
As a Forrest Yoga Guardian and travelling assistant to Ana Forrest, he is committed to delivering the healing practise of Forrest Yoga in its most authentic form.
He supplements asana workshops with sessions on functional anatomy, neuro-science, applied kinesiology and structural bodywork. He has an immense amount of passion explaining why what we do works. Although these workshops sound heavily based on poses, he believes that the foundation for physical and emotional growth walk side by side.
The yoga mat is a safe arena to explore the areas we are working towards as well as the places we are afraid to meet. This safe space is deliberately generated so that we can walk with full integration.
All of our gifts and the shadows that we need to snuggle up to.
The Clinician
Jambo’s academic background includes comprehensive training in literature reviews and comparative studies of healthcare systems. This foundation led him to question traditional dogma and explore the effectiveness of various modalities, particularly in Biofeedback, Heart Rate Variability, and Nervous System Health. He continues his studies with clinical supervisors in acupuncture, scar tissue, and somatic counseling, constantly updating his knowledge to share with his students.
The Dragon
Jambo’s upbringing in Taoism and Buddhism, combined with training in classical and esoteric practices such as mantrayana and devotional yogas, forms the core of his work. His family’s emphasis on ritual and respect has profoundly influenced his approach. Over the years, Jambo has explored various esoteric and occult practices worldwide, training with both masters and charlatans. He has learned the importance of cultivating personal spirituality while honoring traditional teachings. Jambo empowers his students to access their authentic messages from within, free from societal and cultic constraints.
Jambo’s teaching style is embodied, prioritizing the practitioner’s experience to facilitate deep learning. Expect a real-talking, humorous, and informative approach.
